diversity is more than sprinkling a bit of black and brown here or there

July 29th, 2008  |  by Eliacin  |  published in Celebrity Christianity, Emergent, Emerging, Empire, Privilege, american christianity, church, colonialism, diversity, emerging church, funny, language, latino, missional church, missional monastic orders, multi-cultural, multicultural, new monasticism, protest, racial relationships, racism, satire

Mark does it again with this new satire piece at the Jesus Manifesto. While funny, it is true and very sad.  This part in specific touch very close to home -

theologically diverse. We’re all [...]

A Vote for Barack Obama is a Vote for Jesus : Jesus Manifesto

July 18th, 2008  |  by Eliacin  |  published in Celebrity Christianity, Jesus Manifesto, Politics, funny, popular culture, satire

Mark have done it again.
A Vote for Barack Obama is a Vote for Jesus : Jesus Manifesto
A vote for Barack Obama is a vote for Jesus…not that I agree with everything he stands for. I mean, I am an independent sort of thinker. I am firmly convinced that God is neither a republican or a [...]

white males having their say for the first time in history

April 23rd, 2008  |  by Eliacin  |  published in Emergent, Emerging, emerging church, funny, satire, video

Any similarity with current discussions in the emerging/emergent church circles is pure coincidence. Or is it?
… for the first time in history well educated, affluent, white males will have their say.

attire for emerging christian radicals

February 28th, 2008  |  by Eliacin  |  published in Emerging, Fidel Castro, friends, funny

No you’re not seeing double. What you are seeing is the new line of clothing for emerging christian radicals.
The attire of preference is a Castro fatigue, black rim glasses and a hat.
Here is Mark Van Steenwyck and me modeling the new line for the season.

Kid’s questions

March 14th, 2007  |  by Eliacin  |  published in friends, funny, gender inclusive, kids, questions

Questions kids ask their Priest:

She was talking about Jesus coming out of God’s uterus. I told her that it really didn’t happen that way and she said, “Why, God is a woman and women have uteruses.” It was SO hard not to burst out laughing. Anyway, that led to a discussion about [...]
