It has arrived and it is a beauty!

Got my copy of Generate Magazine in the mail today. It was certainly worth the wait. This is one beautiful art/ifact. I’m quite happy to count as my friends the dreamers and makers of such cutie.

New books in my bag - H. Cox, J. Clawson & S. Selmanovic

A couple new books have magically appeared in my book bag. I’m already working my way through some of them.

The Future of Faith
In this by Harvey Cox gives us a new interpretation of Christian history in the hopes to add more direction and content to the current conversations of new expressions of faith and [...]

Re-Membering Emergent Village: First Thoughts

(This is not a step by step retelling of the EV DC 09 weekend, but a brief reflection a week after the event. There will be more posts following this one. Photos thanks to Tim Snyder)

As I mentioned before, on April 24-26 I joined 24 sisters and brothers in a process that I refer as [...]

Emergent Village 2.0 - Whatcha think? No, seriously what do you think?

The Future of Emergent Village - from the Emergent Village blog
Last summer, the Emergent Village board put out a survey to see what Emergent felt itself becoming. The overwhelming result of that survey was that people wanted this network of generative friendships to continue. This continuation (and even broadening) of the friendship is taking multiple [...]

Anglimergence among Episcopalians

Here is a brief summary/reflection by episcopalian practitioner Tim Mathis of a meeting of radical episcopalians that happened this past weekend (Aug. 14-16) in Church of the Apostles in Seattle.

Relatively Faithful: Its all who you know…
This weekend in Seattle there was a gathering of the Emerging Coordinating Team ECG-TEC–a self-appointed, and hopefully soon internationally recognized, [...]

diversity is more than sprinkling a bit of black and brown here or there

Mark does it again with this new satire piece at the Jesus Manifesto. While funny, it is true and very sad.  This part in specific touch very close to home -
These young men, though all around the age of 30 and white, are
diverse in other ways. “We value diversity. In fact, we’re
theologically diverse. We’re all [...]

Apply this to Emergent, Emerging, Missional, New Monastic or any expression of contemporary Christianity

I don’t want to hear about your movement or buzz, if it does not move people to love and to live alternatively. Show me your love and compassion, not your books and blogs.

”Si tu revolución no sabe bailar, no me invites [...]

white males having their say for the first time in history

Any similarity with current discussions in the emerging/emergent church circles is pure coincidence. Or is it?
… for the first time in history well educated, affluent, white males will have their say.
